| Recently Massey University has purchased two Infors (Switzerland) Minitron Benchtop Incubator Shakers for each of the New Allan Wilson Centre (Auckland, Palmerston North).
Peter Ritchie (seen pictured with the Minitron) of the IMBS department says, "We went through a thorough selection process before we chose the Minitron for the Allan Wilson Centre. We decided on the Minitron because it was a one-stop system. There are two internal platforms: one that can shake tubes and the other a fixed shelf for plates. Furthemore it has the facilities for cell culture".
The Minitron offers some excellent features such as:
Front opening door, which allows the platform to slide out onto the door for easy loading and unloading of sample contains.Soft start and soft stop to eliminate any spillages.Magnetic drive system.Easy to program microprocessor control for temperature, speed and timer. There is ALSO a second program that allows you to change the speed, temperature or time during a run.Spillages will not harm any part of the incubator and are collected in the base. These can be emptied via a drain port at the back of the Minitron.Versatile Capacity: Can handle flask sizes up to 5 litres.Space Saving: Offer the possibility to stack a second unit that will increase the capacity without increasing the floor/bench space. |
